Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Ruiz (born on January 10, 1993) who is also known professionally as Rauw Alejandro is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He is known as "the King of the New Reggaeton"[2][3and is part of "the new generation" of Puerto Rican urban artists. His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in November , 2020. The second album of his studio Vice Versa, which debuted in June 2021. It featured the lead track "Todo de Ti". Two Latin Grammy Awards have been won by him from 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Olasio Ruiz was conceived in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th of January 1993. His family was raised in Carolina and Canovanas. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz was a musician and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his back-up vocalist. They introduced him to the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. [6] Alejandro was a part of his father's household for a long time throughout the United States, mostly New York City and Miami and Miami, where his music was influenced by R&B and dancehall. Alejandro and Anuel A.A., a co-worker of the Puerto Rican rapper are childhood friends. They attended the same school and also attended classes together. [9][10] Alejandro was a dancer with talent when he was a kid and participated in talent shows. After completing high school, Alejandro enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico. From the age at which he was six until the age of twenty, he played soccer, but he quit after deciding that he "could not perform the way he was expected to" and suffered an injury at the age of 20. He later moved to Orlando to try to be selected by the Premier Development League (PDL). Rauw Alejandro's style of music consists of Latin R&B, reggaeton, ballads, and rhythmic pop. Billboard noted that it's contributed to "set him aside from a growing category of reggaetoneros who are influenced by pop". He was first influenced by Presley and Jackson in the early days, but later by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also credits Ciara as an influencer in music.
